Get ready to play something never seen before in the history of the franchise.
Netherrealm is a plot-conscious study when developing games. Mortal Kombat 10 and Injustice 2 are recent and striking examples.
With Mortal Kombat 11 the studio dared much more. As Gaming Bolt reports, during an interview, Matt Burke of NetherRealm called the story mode “the largest ever developed”.
“This is definitely the biggest story mode we've ever done” he has declared. “It will be quite long and I am happy that everyone will be able to play this mode. Kronika is a very bad and very cool character and we are all excited about the release of the game“.
Burke also hints at the different narrative time frames that cross in history: “Having the past and present that merge together, getting to see Liu Kang's past and discovering many things about the characters is beautiful“.
We remind you that Mortal Kombat 11 will be available starting April 23 on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. A few hours ago the first gameplay video dedicated to the game was released on the hybrid console.
